I am intrigued by the idea of Margo the Magician becoming more associated with Grimoire, with or without rejuvenation. Maybe she could be non-teaching faulty as a student advisor for Homo Magii students?, or have some kind of part time position so she could be a member of the Freedom Fighters in the rest of her time? In the Grimoire Academy Founding Fathers story she showed the ability to travel through bodies of water almost instantly. So if she could get to water connected to the Pacific Ocean she could slurp over to Grimoire whenever her duties required, and splash back again to fight the Germans. Just some random thoughts...

From the comic book
Margo the Magician was the daughter of the famous stage magician the Great Presto. Like her father before her she also became a stage magician. However, she secretly could use real magic just as her father could and became a crime fighter. Also joining the cast is newshawk and lothario Chick Benson, whom Jimmy met in prison.
Presto was onnce a great magician performing to the practically-proverbial “crowned heads of Europe,”. Now he lives a nomadic life, traveling the world with Margo and her brother Jimmy to book random performances accepting a pittance to perform for nearly-empty theaters. In his quiet hours, he drinks too much. In his last performance, his stage magic is interrupted by Chinese soldiers Hi and Lo looking for a place to hide. Presto hides them, but the audience gives them away. The invading Japanes soldiers find them, and assemble a firing squad for Hi, Lo, Margo and Jimmy. Presto reveals his great magical powers and saves the four, but is shot. Just before he dies, he tells Margo of her own great powers. Margo uses her powers to drive off the invaders, and exclaims: “Boy-o-boy am I really going to go to town on this magic business now.” Uh-oh.
Margo’s amazing illusion ability allows her to causes two Japanese soldiers to see a gently-lobbed pebble as an ENORMOUS BOULDER flying at them. Margo also causes other opponents to believe that their legs are becoming tree trunks, or that their guns are melting. She never says a word, it just happens.
Daughter of the Great Presto, Margo learned her father's power of mass hypnotism after he was shot by Japanese soldiers in Shanghai. While dying, he whispered the secret to her. Using her new abilities, she rescued her brother Jimmy and set off to get food for starving Chinese from a Japanese army supply train. She was successful and, as Japanese planes started bombing the area, we were asked, "What will happen next?" And never found out.

1951 A reddish-blonde woman dressed in a sparkly costume and high heels bowed on the stage to a round of applause. She was doing a show for SSO; the theater was kind of run down. There are guarded checkpoints on the street. She must have been coloring her hair; when she was in China without much money it was black.
Suddenly, Margo felt chilled, and she pulled her jacket collar tight. A feeling came with the fog. Strange, she thought. Then she felt a tugging, a calling of sorts. Something was landing at the wharf, something that hated living things. She has a magical sense. Her magic was more than smoke and mirrors; she possessed real magical talents. Whatever called to her seemed strong and evil and very angry. Several skeletal figures in tattered pirate clothing, each brandishing rusted weapons that easily tore through metal.
“But then again, I’m not some innocent flower you can just mow over!” The magician gestured with a slashing motion of her hand before her. A skeleton was shattered by an invisible blow.
Snaps her finger, flame pops up, grows it into a fireball and throws it.
She looked out in the bay, feeling with her mind the direction she needed to travel.
The young woman, when she felt she had a good lock on what she sought, reached down into the ocean and scooped out a handful of water. Pouring the water slowly at her feet, she formed a nearly round puddle, then etched a line around its edge with her finger. The water stayed within that circle. Good, she thought, the spell having taken hold.
Margo the Magician stepped into the puddle calmly. She sank out of sight in an instant, disappearing into its sudden depth. When her top hat vanished completely, the puddle contracted until only a drop remained. Then that, too, faded.
A moment later, Margo stepped out of the ocean and onto a large rock, completely unaffected by her sudden trip through the watery realm. Where am I now? she wondered. The rest of an island loomed above her. She scooped up some more water and threw it into the air. A misty staircase formed from the falling droplets, leading upward away from the small waves that beat angrily against the rocky shore.
“Up I go!” Margo began to climb.
Insist on action when a group of men are still talking about what to do.
Is gentle and compassionate.
Worked with other mages to make a shield to protect from Gallowglass. Discussing starting the school of magic, she said “We would all have to stay to make it work,” said Margo the Magician, frowning. “I know I could make that sacrifice, but could all of you?” She made the suggestion that caused Abbey Cable to think of the School: "“How about a compromise?” Margo the Magician offered before Doctor Occult could say what was on his mind. “Gareth stays here and does something with others here, like a farm or sanctuary?"
“A new name for the island might be the first step,” suggested Margo. “Few might wish their children to visit a forbidding-sounding place like Grim Island, but something similar, like Grimoire Island might work.”
Fight
in 1986 after the crisis, she is living in NYC. Margo the Magician looked out her window. Her gray-streaked hair floated behind her in a scrunchy. Her top hat sat on the end table at her hand. Something had called her to the window. Now something was forming on the horizon. It felt worse than any Nazi plot she had ever seen. She decided a walk around the city would help clear her head of her worry. Premonitions were magnified fears. Either it would come true or be averted by circumstances. Margo could do little until she had some idea of what was approaching.
Her gray-streaked hair floated behind her in a scrunchy.
Margo the Magician walked along the city streets, window shopping where she could. She maneuvered a coin across the back of her hand with her fingers. Sleight of hand was the mainstay of her act now. When she was younger, she used some of the fancy illusions that others still did. Now she preferred the simple things like the vanishing coin trick, or any of the card tricks she knew.
She took a seat on her throw rug, pulling up the sleeves of her white jacket. Sparks danced around her fingers as she held them in front of her. A cloud erupted from her body as her eyes became white marbles. The cloud hovered in the room, seemingly looking around. It floated to the window, easing under the frame. It floated over the city for a second. Then it turned north. The cloud wafted against the wind as it flew out of New York. Its speed elongated it into a white ribbon as it crossed the miles. It circled a walled manor at the other end of its journey. The cloud coalesced as it descended to the manor. The feeling that bothered Margo was somewhere in the innocent-looking building. The cloud spread itself out over the grounds, looking for something out of place. She can see what is inside the cloud.
She owns her own plane and is a pilot.
Margo the Magician sat across from each other. Purple tendrils reached out, wrapping around the older woman. She blew into her hands. Ice crystals lifted from her skin. Snow formed into an avalanche. Ice wrapped around the estate’s walls, invading the air like a giant beast. Suddenly, it grabbed a squad of pale Manhunters in its grip. When it released them, they were frozen together in a block of ice.
