Main character's name is Citlalmina (Mina) Olin. In this story she gains super speed powers and adopts the heroic name of Flux
Citlalmina is an Aztec name for girls and means 'Shooting Star'
Not sure where Olin came from, her father's surname
General information about the desired story:
This should be an origin story. So far, it is not clear how or why Flux got her powers, although some involvement with Aztec deities has been implied. Huēhuecoyōtl was somehow involved - but does not have to be the source of her powers. In her origin, she should do something heroic that immediately brings her to national attention in her new identity. The story needs to mention Major Power, the only super powered hero who has ever received national fame before her, so she is really 'the second mystery hero. However, this mention only needs to be in passing - Major Power does not need to appear in person in her story, though he could if the story calls for it. (Note that in the story, Major Power should be referred to as a 'mystery hero' rather than a super hero).
Mina has mixed ancestry. During the time the Spaniards fighting the Aztecs (~1515 AD), a daughter of the tlatoana of Otompan (roughly, the princess of the Otompan city-state) married a Spanish Conquistador deserter. Mina's mother is descended from that couple. Mina grew up and graduated from high school in the Hispanic community of East Corona, NM, which is near Turquoise City (based on Silver City, NM).
The origin of Flux occurs several years after Mina graduates from East Corona High School, some time in 1941. She has been working as a beautician since graduation, and has always felt overwhelmed by the idea of going to college. First, she can't afford it, second, she's a girl, third, she was only an average student in high school and is not sure she can handle college, fourth, her parents don't believe that girls should go to college, fifth, because she is often discriminated against because of her mixed background (mother is mainly Aztec with a touch of Spanish, father's background is up to the writer)
There should be some reference to the Aztec god Huēhuecoyōtl in her origin. Mina may not know all the details of her origin, but she believes that Huēhuecoyōtl was involved in at least the selection of her powers. Also, whatever Aztec diety gives her powers is aware that Aduadu, an African 'higher spirit' associated with a mountain range, has give Major Power super powers (somehow related to mountains) in order to fight against the growing evil in the world, and mentions that Mina is getting powers for a similar reason
Some details about Mina:
She is short, maybe 5'2", and wiry like a runner. She has short black hair with a single spit curl in front. She is very interested in history and would like to attend Turquoise City State College to study archeology and learn more about the history of the Aztec people.
The East Corona High School teams are called the Blue Broncos, and the Turquoise City State College teams are the Roadrunners.
During high school Mina worked at her mother's beauty salon, and is very good at her job. Her mother retired last year when the salon burned down, and now Mina works for a friend of her mother. after she gets her powers, she realizes that with her enhanced speed of thought, she could read textbooks in minutes, so college was no longer such an intimidating prospect.
Known High school friends:
Lynette Barri: (Lyn) tall and curvy, with porcelain skin and long, wavy brown hair, very attractive. She moved to Hollywood just after high school and is now a rising actress with several supporting roles in movies to her credit. Mina often practices doing Lyn's makeup during high school. Lyn and Mina (and some other friends) often went to the movies together.
Terry Perry: a very attractive girl who is very buxom, has dark brown hair, and political aspirations. She was student body president their Jr. and Sr. years
Nelly: also attractive, the class snob, and has a reputation among the boys. She is just staring off as a model, really struggling to find gigs. She always sneered at Terry and predicted she would become a famous actress while Terry would end up as a poor housewife.
Some details about Flux
Powers of Flux - she can run and react at super speed. She is invulnerable to heat at least as hot as magma. She does not make a sonic boom when she runs and barely disturbs the air around her. She can run fast enough to be invisible and run across water. She heals at an accelerated rate. She burns off alcohol almost instantly. She has not demonstrated the power to vibrate through solid matter.
Some quotes about Mina and Flux from existing stories:
Citlalmina didn't “believe” in magic either. "Believe in magic" implied that magic was something out of the ordinary, and to her, magic was simply a part of everyday life. Mina was descended from the people we now call the Aztecs and one of the Spaniards who had invaded their empire, then settled there, captured by the exotic beauty of a daughter of the tlatoana of Otompan (roughly, the princess of the Otompan city-state). Mina had grown up knowing the gods, goddesses, and legendary heroes of her ancestors, and had chosen Huehuecoyotl, the ancient trickster, as her patron. She suspected that he had something to do with her powers; but for her own reasons, she had kept her own origin as a mystery hero a secret.

Mina's favorite actors were Tom Mix, Carole Lombardi, and Anne Cavanaugh. Anne Cavanaugh was perhaps the most famous Hollywood (and highly paid) star of the silent movie era; she was a Tahitian princess who was discovered during the filming of a movie in Tahiti. The director brought her back to Hollywood and made her a star.
She is an avid reader of at least one comic book: Terrific Two Comics, each issue stars 'The Rush' and 'Susie Whirlwind', two heroes with super speed powers, and then has various other features. Susie and the Rush team up fairly frequently.

Flux wears a blue skin tight costume (turquoise blue) with a dark blue (almost black) domino mask, and a red sash tied around her waist. The right side of her costume, from the sleeve to the boot, is decorated with horizontal blue and red flames.
She is very generous and donates most of her reward money to Native American charities
Some quotes about Mina and Flux from existing stories:
“SorryImstillgettingusedtobeingtheworld'sfastesthumanandwhenImexciteditistoughtoslowdown!” A short, high pitched chirp. She took several long, deep breaths, though even to Dr. Lambda's enhanced reflexes, she appeared to be rapidly hyperventilating. “OnceI turnon myspeed, I still haveto concentrate toturn it off again.” Her words became slower and more understandable through the sentence, and at the end, her speech was back to normal. Her normal voice was a little lower pitched than he expected from her size, and to his East Coast ears she had an unusual accent, a touch of Spanish mixed with something he'd never heard before.
