Help me out with the potential War Eagle story.
In his origin, he is taken to a hospital in New York City, so he didn't live too far from the city. But his life wasn't in immediate danger, so his ambulance ride could have been fairly lengthy, say a couple of hours. He lives on an estate, probably near a farm or a dairy farm. His family is rich, so they are probably not farmers themselves. He has other friends in his same social circle, so he probably doesn't live too far away from other wealthy folks. And fairly nearby there is someplace that is described as 'a mountain cliff'. It doesn't actually have to be a mountain, just somewhere he can get high enough to test his new wings. He is also probably fairly close to the ocean, as at least two of his cases involve ocean disasters.
And his origin shows him hanging out at the waterfront, keeping an eye on a ship that going to the shipyard tomorrow to be converted to an aircraft carrier. A half hour drive from the waterfront, there is a river which runs through a rock chasm, maybe 60' deep with sheer rocky walls.
So where does he live? Are there any rivers that empty into the Hudson through deep chasms? I figure either somewhere in the Hudson River Valley or northern New Jersey.
I need a some reason why he confronts bootleggers. Maybe there's a gang that has distilleries somewhere on Long Island, and tonight they are bringing a big load into New York, and somehow the War Eagle finds out? Thinking maybe some gang member abuses a local from the town nearest the distillery, and one of the other gang members gets upset and decides to 'resign' from the gang and go to the police, and he gets shot up by the gang before he can blab, but before he dies, he somehow gets word to someone who gets word to War Eagle.
Any thoughts about that?
And then, sometime after midnight, a semi driving west along a deserted Long Island road encounters a road block, and when it stops, War Eagle announces that by his authority as an agent of the Department of Prohibition, they are all under arrest. There is a pitched battle and War Eagle wins. And it makes the news big time the next day.
As described above, this is all 'plot' and no 'story' - no character development; no real internal conflict, no drama, no plot twists.
Or perhaps War Eagle is defeated and taken prisoner, and is taken into the presence of the boss of the gang who makes him an offer he cannot accept, and then he gets loose and defeats the whole gang, and it makes the news big time the next day.
